Sam Kaufman has practiced law in Key West for more than 27 years. He began his career in 1999 as an Assistant Public Defender, trying cases in Monroe County courtrooms before opening his own practice in 2003. Since then he has represented hundreds of clients in criminal defense, family law, estate planning, probate, personal injury, and civil litigation, and has tried hundreds of cases to verdict.

Sam is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and a member of The National Trial Lawyers Top 100. He is known for thorough preparation, candid advice, and a willingness to take a case to trial when that is what serves the client.

Outside the office, Sam serves his third term as Key West City Commissioner for District II and served as Vice Mayor from 2018 to 2024. He has chaired the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition for the Homeless since 2002 and serves on the boards of the Key West Art & Historical Society and the Florida Keys SPCA.

Suzette Alfonso brings more than 30 years of private-practice experience to the firm. A magna cum laude graduate of Stetson University College of Law, she concentrates on estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianships, corporate and business law, and civil litigation.

Suzette advises business owners on formation, buy-sell and succession agreements, and the purchase and sale of companies, and she represents clients in breach of contract and family matters. Clients value her strategic thinking, depth of knowledge, and a compassionate approach to matters that are often deeply personal.

Before relocating to the Keys, Suzette was recognized by Watermark as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Orlando region, and was voted a Suncoast Select Winner for excellence in legal services. She co-founded the Women's Professional Resource Network and served as Vice-President of the Tampa Bay Business Guild. She spends her free time with family and caring for rescue animals.

Rachel Moss focuses her practice on divorce and family law. Born and raised in south Louisiana, she earned her degree in Anthropology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 2009 and the Florida Bar in 2010.

Rachel began her career with the Louisiana Attorney General's Office, then practiced with an established family law firm in New Orleans before opening her own practice devoted to representing victims of abuse and others the system too often overlooks. Her publications on domestic violence in family law cases helped bring attention and reform to how those cases are handled.

She has litigated many complex and high-conflict matters involving domestic violence, child abuse, relocation, and fathers' rights, and she is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
